What can I say about Jake and Steph’s wedding? Well, where do I start! These guys are the reason I love to shoot weddings.
I try to keep my wedding bookings to a point where can spend time getting to know my clients. Real time though, not the sales meeting and “oh I’ll see you in a year for your wedding” kind of time, but regular contact, get a feel for who they are, their sense of humour and I truly enjoy learning about their plans as they put their wedding together. As their photographer, it helps in the sense that there are no surprises that I couldn’t have anticipated and also, when I walk through the front door on their wedding day, it’s like catching up with an old friend.
Don’t get me wrong, not every wedding and every couple are going to want their photographer this involved in their wedding, but by the time Jake and Steph were due to be married, we’d spoken almost weekly for a year and I was truly invested in their wedding day.
Most of our conversations revolved around Steph’s amazing DIY creations – this wedding was DIY from top to bottom, yet looked like it was styled by a bohemian specialist.
Their ceremony was held in a park where the two first spent time getting to know each other in Murwillumbah and reception at Jake’s parents’ property close by.
Thanks so much for having me guys!
